Design your own post-COVID workspace

Some companies are realising that their businesses can be operated out of the office setting after seeing employees successfully work from home during the pandemic.

However, there is still a need for an office, maybe not as large but to come together. Our latest site in Southend-on-Sea demonstrates this need, a large company have taken occupancy within the space. Pre-Covid the company had an office for 150-180 employees, everyone worked in the office 5 days a week. When the first lockdown came in March 2020, the office closed, meaning all staff had to work from home.

It worked out surprisingly well, making those that run the company take a view on the future of their office space. With the lease on the existing building coming up for renewal, the company contacted us at space282 to ask if we have a solution.

It was decided that the office should offer a space for people to work from 1 day a week, rotating, so teams can come together and meet, interact and share ideas. A space that worked at board level for meetings and catchups, but also could be adapted for training staff or social gatherings. Client meetings are an important part of the business, so the space needed to have the ability to make the right impression.

The space we created is flexible, giving the company space to change its function when it needs too.

These images give an idea of the multifunctional space and what is possible to create.
